Sony this week launched its new ultra portable laptop, the VAIO Z. This is a sleek laptop from the Japanese electronic giant and weighs just 0.685 kg. It sports an aluminum and carbon-fiber chassis and is tagged as the world’s lightest 13-inch standard voltage PC.
The new VAIO Z is powered by Intel’s Core i7 processor clocked at 2.70 GHz, it includes 8GB of DDR3 RAM, 256GB of SSD storage and on-board Intel HD Graphics 3000. It has the Turbo Boost feature which can pump up the processor up to 3.40 GHz, of course at the cost of additional power.
It runs Windows 7, has an HD web camera, Dolby Home Theater stereo speakers, fingerprint sensor, WiFi, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity. It has a built-in Blu-ray HD drive, three USB ports and can connect to four high-definition displays at one time.
This 13-inch ultraportable laptop from Sony is priced at $2,000 and hopefully will be making it to other regions very soon.
