Vinyl aficionados are a special brand of audiophile, combining their love of music with a love of the unique equipment that produces it. Nothing represents this more than the exquisitely designed (and expensive) cartridges produced by Koetsu.

Koetsu creates handcrafted cartridges that combine painstakingly precise designs with materials more common in fine furniture or jewelry than audio components. Founder Yoshiaki Sugano started the company in Japan, and its name pays homage to renowned Japanese artist Honami Koetsu. The moving-coil cartridges are produced from materials that include lacquered woods, petrified coral, and fine quartz stone, each with their own acoustic characteristics.
